A leaf of real silver is applied to a fine tissue paper. The silver sheet is manually removed from its booklet along with the sheet of tissue paper. Everything is cut with scissors to the desired shape. Tissue paper is easily removed. "Sticky" or glued silver foils are by far the most practical as they are lightly glued (with gelatin) to tissue paper, so you can handle them quite easily Real sheets in 99.9% pure silver, the transfer sheets for oil gilding are pressed onto a very thin sheet of paper which allows it to be easily detached from the notebook, then put it directly on the surface already prepared with oil or the mixture to brown.
