• Heat resistant to 450f without passing it through: High-quality silicone rated to 450F takes a pan straight off the burner without scorching or melting, and does not conduct the heat down into the counter underneath. It works under cast iron, stoneware
• Non-slip on both faces, which is the whole trick: The textured surface grips the counter below and the pan above, so a hot pot stays put while you stir it hard and the mat does not skate when you pull a lid. That same grip torques open a jar
• Bpa free and straight into the dishwasher: BPA-free silicone that washes in the machine and comes out done. It does not stain, absorb grease, or take on the smell of everything it has been sitting under
