To begin printing, apply paint to your gel plate with a brayer roller. Acrylic paints, alcohol inks, stamping inks, pastels, and alcohol markers can be used on your plate. Next, let your creativity run wild as you create your design. All three monoprint techniques (subtractive, additive, and masking) can be used on these gel pads for art. Feel free to experiment with any texture-making supplies such as stencils, stamps, feathers, yarn, and our Gelli printing tools. With your Gelli Arts printing plate, you can print on paper, fabrics, shrink film, and so much more. Enjoy making anything from cards to decorative pillow cases or journal covers to scarves. Open up even more possibilities by mixing colors or printing multiple layers on one paper. To clean your print plate, spray it with water and wipe it with a paper towel or a baby wipe and then pat it dry with a lint-free cloth. For deep cleaning use baby oil and wipe clean. To store your plate, cover both sides with white copy paper and place back into clamshell packaging for your next use. To enjoy the full printing experience it can be useful to also purchase a gel printing plate kit or a gelli card printing kit.
