Correct first, then protect. Q: Will Polish ALL remove a scratch? A: Drag a fingernail across it. If you barely feel it, it should polish out. If it catches, it is too deep to level safely. Q: Can I use it on plexiglass? A: Yes. Aircraft, RV and boat windows, and motorcycle windshields. Hazing shows more because you look through it, so use a machine on a full window. Q: Can I use it on my aircraft? A: Yes. Bare aluminum skins, spinners, leading edges, painted fuselage and plexiglass windscreens. On paint, use a dual action rather than a rotary. Q: Are there surfaces to avoid? A: Matte and satin paint, anodized aluminum, and chrome look plastic, which has no metal to polish. Q: Does it protect the surface? • THE FINGERNAIL TEST — Drag a nail across the scratch. If you barely feel it, it should polish out. If your nail catches, it is too deep. Leveling that far would remove more paint than the surface can spare, and no polish or compound will fix it.
